Kevin Rudd has resigned as Foreign Minister, saying he will not be part of the leadership "soap opera" and heading off any move to sack him. He says the reasons of his resignation are- he doesn't have support from J.G, that the leadership tensions are lowering the business confidence and to support Anna Bligh in the upcoming Queensland elections.
When challenged today on these attacks, Prime Minister Gillard chose not to repudiate them... I can only reluctantly conclude that she therefore shares these views. Is what the former Prime Minister had to say.
He then went on to say that the labor party should fundamentally change its culture and end the power of faceless men.
What will he do? These are probably his options-
a. he lets J.G sort out her own problems.
b. He resigns and lets the coalition win
c. He gets a job at the U.N
d. He lets labor get smashed, runs for opposition leader and wins
e. He lets labor get smashed, runs for opposition leader and loses
f. He spends the rest of his career on the bench.
What do you think? I think it will be d.
Meanwhile, What Rudd has said has helped someone else, Tony Abbott. He says that the coalition would not be run by faceless men would not run Australia in a coalition government.
